Austin August Classes

Some of you have asked for these classes so I finally got them scheduled! I hope you can make it. Call Memory Depot at 326-8045 to reserve your spot (ESPECIALLY the Organization class!) The earlier the better!

Get Organized – Think Simple, Think A Muse!
Thursday, August 12th, 2010  7-9pm
Memory Depot, Austin, TX 512-326-8045

When shopping, do you ever stand in front of your favorite inks or A Muse stamps,
scratching your head, thinking “do I have this one?” Well, you are
definitely NOT alone. I was in the same boat until I made myself a
super cute organizer that I would like to share with you! In this class, I will
provide a
binder which we
will decorate (perfect for growing along with your “collection”),
dividers, charts (for a multitude of different supplies and some blank
ones to customize your own), and 10 page protectors to get you started.
I have found that if my supplies are organized, I am more likely to use
them, so lets start getting the most out of our crafty investments with
this class! This class does have a supply fee of $10 in addition to the class fee to cover the binder and other supplies cost.
Please bring paper scissors and adhesive.

*Please
sign up early for this class as the supplies must be ordered in advance
and I want to make sure you'll have one reserved for you!

Texas Tuesday – Longhorns, of course.

DSC_1361Well it's time again for Texas Tuesday. I've been absent the last couple of times because the days are just getting away from me. But I got this one done early and here it is.

As you may know, I'm a big fan of the Texas Longhorns. Not are they my alma mater but also the mascot of our town. Yeah, okay so I live in my college town. :p

But everything around here is longhorn-y. And I love it.

Both of these stamps are by Deadbeat Designs and Mark, the owner & illustrator is part of this little Texas Group.

Be sure to check out my fellow Texans today for more Texas inspiration: Libby, Jennifer, Mark, Shannan, Betty, and Tina! If you'd like to join us, drop me a line!

amuse-bouche – Winter Scene!

So sorry I haven't been able to play along in this week's amuse-bouche! I've been busy teaching AP classes around Texas though. Two more classes today… YAY! It's my birthday today and I can't wait to be around stamping people all day! So fun!

This is one of my cards from my Holiday Classics class that I taught this week here. I *love* this stamp. It's called Winter Scene and it is a cling stamp. A Muse released several cling stamps for AP 2010. I think they are awesome! Love everything about them, especially the clean images. They ink up wonderfully!

The winter scene is white embossed on A Muse's navy cardstock.
A Muse now has MANY colors of solid white core 8.5×11 cardstock (not to mention the BEST pattern cardstock around!). YIPPEE. I love that. Now I can make whatever size cards I want!

Supplies:

A Muse winter scene, let heaven and nature sing images; navy 8.5×11

Marvy Giga Scalloped Circle, White Detail Embossing Powder, Colorbox Frost White Pigment Ink, Memento Paris Dusk Ink

Have a great day!

W stands for…

AlphabetwalkblogbadgeAround here “W” stands for “WHAT” and it’s said a whole lot by my 8 year old son. If you look it up in the dictionary, I’m sure it says “attitude”. LOL. And I hear it just gets worse. Great.

I’m participating in Piper’s Alphabet Walk over on her blog, One Sydney Road. My buddy, Lisa, told me about it and it sounded like fun. I picked the letter “W“. Why, you ask? Well (apparently I use it a lot in the words I type!) see below. Obviously, some of these pictures are not recent but they fit my project!

amuse-bouche – winter critters, the Holiday and more!

Today's post is about the A*Muse*A*Palooza's winter critters except mine isn't (doesn't have any critters in it!). Mine is all about snow. Those of us down here in Texas don't see much snow. That's a given, right? Well, I grew up in Canada. I saw plenty of snow – so much that I don't ever want to live somewhere that has it on a regular basis. But I do like the looks of it. And so my card creations are of those things that I like to look at… but not necessarily live with. HA! CSCC#87 - The
Holiday

This card also fits the Cinema Saturday Challenge this week – the movie The Holiday. This is another movie I  really liked. I really like the snowy, Christmas-y look of England (hence this card). Jack Black seemed like an unusual choice for his role but whatever. It's a cute movie.

I love this AP image – snowladen tree. I will use it a lot, I'm sure.  Quickie glue pen and a bit of glitter and it's all sparkly! All of these AP images are available at participating AP stores – here in Texas, you may find them at Memory Depot in Austin and Stamp Antonio in San Antonio!

Tomorrow I'm participating in the Alphabet Walk over on One Sydney Road! Come back and see what that's all about.

amuse-bouche – snow fun!

(Small)WOHOO! It's mid-week of A*Muse*A*Palooza (AP) 2010! I hope you've been checking out the A Muse News blog and the rest of the Creative Team for some wonderful amuse-bouche (sampling of this year's AP 2010 images!). I've been busy prepping for more AP classes this week. I'll be at Memory Depot in Austin tomorrow night (Thursday) and also Saturday – it's my birthday Saturday – hope you can join me for fun stamping time!

The AP 2010 images are available exclusively at participating AP stores around the country.

Okay, on to the card already… well, I quickly made this card because this image is the image that I'm going to use for my holiday cards this year. I think. 🙂 I'm all about snowflakes. And this one is perfect.

It was really hard to get the photo on this one but hopefully you can see well enough. It's a clear card with the images stamped in white stazon. The inside has a strip of Sky Blue paper (love that A Muse has so many colors in 8.5×11 now!) to put a handwritten message.

Hope your summer is going well. I don't want mind to end. 🙂

A*Muse*A*Palooza 2010 at Stamp Antonio!

WOW! I had such a great time at Stamp Antonio yesterday. The store moved to 1604 near the Rim. It is beautiful.

Their doors opened for the first time yesterday morning at 9am and then we had THREE A*Muse*A*Palooza classes. They have 2 classrooms and the bigger one seats 32 people! YOWZA!

I am so happy to have seen so many friends – ones I haven't seen in a while and thrilled to have met so many new ones! I hope everyone that came out had a good time. I know I did.

Here are a couple of pics of the new store. I know Amy and Carol, owners of Stamp Antonio are still busy getting stuff out on the shelves and getting a few last items from the old location. Be sure to say hello when you go check out the new store.
