Hope you have a Fan”tache”tic Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

We joined in the mustache craze for valentine’s day. I found some great printables that made life just a tad bit easier. My 5th grader was having issues saying “would you be my valentine?” this year since I think it means something competely different than it does for 1st graders! My 1st grader was insistant that hisΒ did say “Will you be my valentine?”.

Thanks to Plum Adorable for her free printables and clever play on “mustache”, my 5th grader had these as his valentines:

My first grader gave out these inspired from Girl Loves Glam!

The mustaches are cut from FUZZY BLACK VINYL on my silhouette. You know how much I love that machine, right?

Oh and here is the “box” my 5th grader made for his valentine’s party – there was a contest in his class and the prize was a “Homework Pass”. He decided to build an electronic circuit on the inside that had a light sensor on it. When the box was opened to put a valentine in, the sensor triggered the music to play through the speaker. Ah, I love when he plays with circuits and electricity πŸ˜‰

Texas Tuesday! – Go Vote!

Happy Texas Tuesday! I'm so happy I got to play this round. It's been a bit more than crazy around here.

So when I sat down to make this card, all I could think of about Texas was "I can't wait until Tuesday is over so that the phone will stop ringing with political calls!" Anyone know how to get off those lists? Sigh.

Anyway, so I thought I'd make a card about Texas and getting out and voting today. It is Texas themed, see? πŸ™‚

I picked up that little Texas shaped punch down at Stamp Antonio the last time I taught down there. I've wanted it for a long time and finally decided to get it!

For more inspiration of the Texas-kind, be sure to see my Texas Friends:

Now, get out there and vote, ya hear! πŸ˜‰

W stands for…

AlphabetwalkblogbadgeAround here “W” stands for “WHAT” and it’s said a whole lot by my 8 year old son. If you look it up in the dictionary, I’m sure it says “attitude”. LOL. And I hear it just gets worse. Great.

I’m participating in Piper’s Alphabet Walk over on her blog, One Sydney Road. My buddy, Lisa, told me about it and it sounded like fun. I picked the letter “W“. Why, you ask? Well (apparently I use it a lot in the words I type!) see below. Obviously, some of these pictures are not recent but they fit my project!

Well? What do you think?

amuse-bouche – winter critters, the Holiday and more!

Today's post is about the A*Muse*A*Palooza's winter critters except mine isn't (doesn't have any critters in it!). Mine is all about snow. Those of us down here in Texas don't see much snow. That's a given, right? Well, I grew up in Canada. I saw plenty of snow – so much that I don't ever want to live somewhere that has it on a regular basis. But I do like the looks of it. And so my card creations are of those things that I like to look at… but not necessarily live with. HA! CSCC#87 - The

This card also fits the Cinema Saturday Challenge this week – the movie The Holiday. This is another movie I  really liked. I really like the snowy, Christmas-y look of England (hence this card). Jack Black seemed like an unusual choice for his role but whatever. It's a cute movie.

I love this AP image – snowladen tree. I will use it a lot, I'm sure.  Quickie glue pen and a bit of glitter and it's all sparkly! All of these AP images are available at participating AP stores – here in Texas, you may find them at Memory Depot in Austin and Stamp Antonio in San Antonio!

Tomorrow I'm participating in the Alphabet Walk over on One Sydney Road! Come back and see what that's all about.

A*Muse*A*Palooza 2010 at Stamp Antonio!

WOW! I had such a great time at Stamp Antonio yesterday. The store moved to 1604 near the Rim. It is beautiful.

Their doors opened for the first time yesterday morning at 9am and then we had THREE A*Muse*A*Palooza classes. They have 2 classrooms and the bigger one seats 32 people! YOWZA!

I am so happy to have seen so many friends – ones I haven't seen in a while and thrilled to have met so many new ones! I hope everyone that came out had a good time. I know I did.

Here are a couple of pics of the new store. I know Amy and Carol, owners of Stamp Antonio are still busy getting stuff out on the shelves and getting a few last items from the old location. Be sure to say hello when you go check out the new store.
